Burglar flees after homeowner shoots

According to Everett Police, a 62-year-old homeowner fired a shot at a suspected burglar early this morning. Here’s the initial information from Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell…

The Everett Police Department is investigating an interrupted residential burglary of a detached garage after a homeowner shoots at a suspect.

Just after midnight, Everett Police officers are dispatched to the 1700 block of Cedar St when a homeowner reports he believes someone is in his detached garage. Arriving officers learn the homeowner, a 62-year-old man, went outside to the garage where he found and confronted a male inside. After a verbal interaction, the homeowner fired a shot at the male and struck a neighbors van. The male ran off and it is unknown if he was injured. Officers established a perimeter around the area and initiated a police K-9 track. After about an hour, the K-9 was unable to locate the male.

The male is described as white, about 5‘9” with a goatee and a green hoodie.

We would like anyone who has information on this incident to call 911 or the Everett Police Department TIP LINE at (425) 257-8450.
